The longest day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Submarine Miners were closed when I cycled by, but it&#8217;s possible to walk around. Cycling route went away from the coast through the park, then through military zone. The path was fenced with warnings about not stepping out of the path to avoid explosion. The longest day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I was on this part of National Cycling Route 1 on the 21st of June, the longest day, and it was a great guess. It was the perfect cycling road along the coast line for cycling overnight without front lights, which I was going to do. I took a picture of sun, disappearing into the ocean. Turned around to take pictures of roofs of the houses in reflected pink light, turned back, and&#8230; see sun back. A big ball. Two guys were exercising in ramp jumping and posed to me, were being happy with at least one spectator. Then I saw a very good spot for tenting right on the beach behind somebody&#8217;s fence and decided to use it rather then\u00a0miss, and pith my tent there.<\/p>\n<h3>Bamse, the famous dog<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2880\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2880\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/lenafaber.com\/blog\/cycling-scotland-3\/cycling-from-dundee-to-stonehaven-47\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2880\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2880\" src=\"http:\/\/lenafaber.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/uk-cycling-route-510.jpg\" alt=\"Cycling from Dundee to Stonehaven. Bamse<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Next day the Cycling Route brought me thought\u00a0East Haven and Elliot Links to Arbroath, then Montrose. The famous St. Bernard\u00a0Bamse was serving in Navy during the Second World War, with it&#8217;s owner, the master of the\u00a0whale catcher. Dunnotar Castle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Another landmark on your way &#8211; Dunnottar Castle, which takes a while to walk around.
