It was cool itself, also the next day I supposed to meet with Portland’s newspapers, so I was thinking about hanging somehow at this night shop, the whole night around. I’m an outdoor shopaholic.

There was roadwork, and, not to get stone-struck, I hitched. After dropping me off, the man wished me to be save and gave me his military knife, he was a veteran. I was going to refuse to take it because, first of all, it was heavy. Second – I don’t want even to touch it. Third – I don’t want to know how to use it. But then I just took it. Many times I refuse to take many things, then thought, I shouldn’t.

The later afternoon I was in L.L.Been. And saw a lot of erected tents staying empty on exposure. Do you know what I mean?

I knew I would, but was hesitating till late, to ask could I actually sleep in one of their tents, because I’m bla-bla-bla. After a short discussion, a few managers came to a conclusion “exactly, why not?!” And offered me to choose a tent and make myself home.

In the morning they call me for a special coffee with sneak, that they provided this week for those who cycled to work. And they made a license plate for my bike.

They also gave me instructions in drawings about alligators on the particular road in Florida. Not sure what is better: alligators or pythons, who eat alligators and everything around. Anyway, their advice was rather to find a ride through this place.

Then I took off to Portland‹

›

10 Photos – View album

Gail told me that it would be a huge outdoor store on my way in Freeport, L.L.Bean, which was a few miles away before Portland and worked all day and nights.
