Shared Church

Our first house of worship was built in 1835 in union with the Baptists, in South Thomaston, ME.

Congregational Church established

In 1838, Ida Kimball purchased interest in the church, and the Second Congregational Society was established.

 The City of Rockland was incorporated

in 1854, and at that time we became The Congregational Church of Rockland. Soon, a new church building went up on Main Street, where the Rockland Harbor Hotel currently stands.

at 180 Limerock Street was dedicated on September 12, 1965. 
Throughout the decades, The Congregational Church of Rockland has served the community of Rockland with the love and hope and presence of God.
