Truck Ride with Bike

It was a Big Truck Ride, a Road Trip from Albuquerque to Flagstaff. That how it happened.

After a lunch at 66 Pit Stop to the West from Albuquerque, New Mexico, I was biking where R66 goes along the highway. As usual for this special summer, a big storm came and a truck driver, going to LA, passed me, made a u-turn and took me inside!
He agreed to drive the old Route 66, so I didn’t miss anything. We end up in Flagstaff, he gave me a room to sleep in his truck. In the morning, we walk in downtown and have a breakfast in old Route 66 restaurant. Then I asked him to drop me in Williams because I decided to use “saved” days for biking in Grand Canyon. He changed my tires, lubricated the chain, fixed the brakes, and left to Los Angeles.

From journalism and car racing in Russia to teaching at the University in South Africa, where she won Alliance de France and the British Consulate international photo contests, she switched paths: earned a silver medal at the 2011 World Masters Athletics USA, hiked the 2,081-mile Appalachian Trail, navigated the Amazon from Peru to Brazil, biked Route 66 from Chicago to LA, from London to Orkney, and from Canada to Key West, and launched an art project at Midcoast Maine. During lockdown drove to Olympic Valley Palisades Tahoe where became a ski and swim instructor, then… well, enough for now.
