Canada border in Calais. Srart of East Coast Greenway

Map #1. Calais-Dennysville

Calais was sleeping when I took off from the motel towards Key West. But almost immediately stopped at the Canadian border to figure out something for the future, in case I want to do Great Canadian Trail straight from Greenway.

At noon I eat in McDonald’s for the rest of the day and took off through Moose Horn.

A strong headwind, 40 Fahrenheit, 25 miles so far for almost two hours. My iPhone couldn’t stay on this “freeze” and got flat very quickly so once I saw a library in a small town of Dennysville, I went inside to charge my phone. From this point, my trip posed until the next day because of the storm warning. It was a movie-watching those nights, about Sidney Reilly, Russian spy, prototype of James Bond, with the following discussion with knowledgeable well-read people. Ann, a librarian, drove in and out of Darrel’s and June’s cottage, where they invited me to stay before the weather would be suitable for cycling. It was a big plot, an organic farm with a greenhouse. Ann brought something for our snack before the movie, and we share it at the church kitchen, which is next door and Ann is in charge. She showed me around, drove to the goats’ farm, where I met Sue and Alan. The next day there was a big supper at the church, and I was there as Ann’s guest, meeting all local people. The next day a few musicians came to June to practicing with their flutes, Ann passed by and came to say hello and bring me a ginger biscuit. Then I moved to Sue and Alan because we agreed about something exciting and I should stay another week here, and that is another story.
