Duncannon Trail Magic

Hikers Prison

Diner for hikers in the Church in Duncannon, lunch in McDonald’s Walnutport out of the trail, trying to hitchhike back but stopped by a policeman because it was prohibited in Pennsylvania.

I asked a policeman to bring me back to the trail because he did not let me hitchhike. He agreed. I still was in doubt if I should go because it would be getting dark very soon. So I asked him if he knew the hostel in jail, which was mentioned in hikers book.
He did not. Moreover, he was not going to smile, and asked instead, why I wanted to go to jail. I answered, “never mind, just drop me on the trail”. That how said accidentally, I kept hiking in twilights in one of the rare places without any spot to set a tent because of high grass.
Then rehab in hikers hostel in Delaware Water Gap in church with a bit of volunteering, change a backpack again, crossing NJ/NY line, staying at Bear Mountain resort, and crossing the Hudson River.
Trail Angels took us to their house for celebrating the 4th of July. No idea where are these photos.
